1. Museum Siam

Museum Siam is one of successful project of National Discovery Museum Institute (NDMI) it is set up to be a discovery museum as a play and learn center to foster the goodwill for an understanding of people, country, and the world. We believe Museum Siam is an entrepreneurial because it is a state enterprise. It is a place where the owner is a people who have a passion about the creation of knowledge and government, a source of fund, merge together to provide the discovery museum.

Most of their customer is students. We see that Museum Siam is different from other museum in Thailand because it is a self-learning museum for Thai people. Museum Siam utilizes and interactive and multi-disciplinary approach. It introduces hands-on-exhibitions, audiovisual multimedia and the creation of a knowledge center, which we think it is very creative and innovative way of encourage Thai people to gain knowledge. When we went there we observe lots of students having fun with exhibition. They were taking photo, taking notes, touching and, analyzing product on the exhibition. In our opinion, as a nature of Thai people does not like to read, the museum has done very well to adapt to Thai people nature. Instead of having a lot of wording, the museum changed the way they present the knowledge to be more fun, interesting, and not boring at all. We believe that this museum will trigger thoughts, induce curiosity, persuade questions and encourage audience interaction, and enhance skills of self-learning.

In addition they also have temporary exhibitions that encourage people to enjoy learning about the world and current events. When we went their there was an exhibition about preservation food, called “ Kin Kong Nao” . They said before they came up with the exhibition it took them more than one year to do a research and making their own “Pra-Ra”. So, they really know what they are doing in every step, not just throw out the knowledge to people to say that they are a knowledge center.

Unique Feature of Museum of Siam

• The exhibition that triggers thoughts, induces curiosity, and persuades questions.
• Interactive exhibition that encourage self-learning through sensory organs such as sound, sight, smell, test, and touch.
• The story-telling technique via seven characters. Not just observed that students that go to Museum of Siam are having fun, we are having fun too.
